About

Hi, I'm Parth. I live in Navi Mumbai, somewhere between the trains and the sea. I write a little, photograph a little, and remember more than I'm probably supposed to.

This site is the closest thing I have to a personal newspaper — a small reserved patch where I get to publish the writing, the recommendations, and the photographs that don't quite fit anywhere else. I called it parth's column because that's what it is. A column. The kind your favourite uncle used to clip out of the Sunday paper.

I grew up loving things that were a little out of date. Old Hindi cinema, especially Imtiaz Ali in his Rockstar years. T.S. Eliot at the wrong age. Bring Me The Horizon at the right one. Jaun Elia couplets read at 2 a.m. like a small private religion. Gulzar writing about books that miss being held. Prateek Kuhad and Anuv Jain on a train window at night, the city lights doing the rest of the work.

I'm a gen-z boy with a tumblr-era heart. The internet, I think, could use more of that energy — a little slower, a little more sentimental, a little less optimised. So this is my small attempt to put some back. No analytics, no algorithms, no ads. One column, updated when there is something to say.

If anything here resonated with you, the best thing you can do is tell me. I'm not hard to find.
